May long weekend

Surprisingly I have May long weekend off, being self-employed usually my long weekend are when I'm not working, and not when a stat holiday comes along. This weekend is both, and as usual it's raining and cold when the week was all sun and happy.

I'm setting in a nice cold room with a hot coffee starting my day. I plan on doing some shopping today, I need a few things, and I want to find a bike helmet for biking / rollerblading. My head is huge, oddly shaped, and for the past few years I've had to go without. Now I might just end up ordering one online, and hoping it's actually big enough.

I ate all wrong yesterday so I feel horrible, not guilty, but horrible. One nice thing about having stomach problems, it keeps you eating right just out of not wanting to feel like you are going to die.

Exercise must happen today, as well as a big clean up. I'll do an update tonight to see if any of that happened.

Sunday Afternoon

So usually Sunday afternoon ends in me doing something I have no desire to do. Mainly leaving the house. Today the leaving the house trip was a photo shoot, in the park, we got a free photographer, and my lady decided we need family pictures. It was free so I had no excuse. It was kind of fun. I have some pictures from the photographer I might put up after they're done.

My Sunday.

Every Sunday, I wake up anywhere from 4:30 to 5:30 usually. I click on the coffee, feed the Boy, and Study my Watchtower for the meeting later that day.
I'm studying with Jehovah's Witnesses, as you might have guessed since I study The Watchtower. Reading the Bible, and studying the bible is a big part of my life. It helped realize no matter how bad things get there's nothing god can't fix. Don't worry I'm not going to get all preachy, but I'd like to encourage everyone to read the bible, you will be surprised what you find in it. It's not the easiest 66 books to understand or get into, but it is worth it.
Any who, I'm going to get out of the house now. This afternoon should be filled with the three F's, fun, fitness, and food. Enjoy your long weekend everyone.

Saturday FAIL

Maybe it's the no sleep thing, but I totally failed the push-ups test.
The fix and still stay on track with new fitness goals, I'm gonna start running C25K and start back on like week 3 of push ups. That should be easy, and by the time I get to the point of final test should be adjusted to running so it won't be such a drain.
anyway need food so must eat... BRAINS! err a meal anyway...

Rest day

Up at 7 am after being up with the boy until 2 before just taking him to bed with us. COFFEE made upon getting downstairs. He had shots yesterday so that made him kind of a pain fortunately he loves his dad, and will go to sleep if I'm there, most of the time. Bad part is when you sleep with a baby, you usually do it in an uncomfortable position as to avoid baby falling or baby squishing. My arm was sore but a few hours this morning, and now at 8 pm I could sleep all night.

Breakfast
Coffee, toast with margarin and honey, too tired to put effort into anything. multivitamin, and prescription drugs with breakfast, so full glass of water.

Snack
Protein bar and water

Lunch
Coffee and plain bagel, low fat cream cheese.

supper
waited too long to eat, so nutrition fail 10 proggies, sour cream, then dessert of a small glass of strawberry ice cream.

An okay rest day plus I grab 5 medium sized steaks for 11 dollars, might have one tonight for a snack before bed but I'm also really tired so might go to bed. work tomorrow for a half day at least, I'm getting pumped about Saturday's test.

(Told you this is a pretty boring blog, it might be more interesting when I have more of a workout schedule and less of a "Oh hey I ate, and was tired")

Morning, Push-ups week 6 day 3 complete

I have completed the last day of the push ups program, now to prepare for the final test Saturday.

Breakfast
Today I started off with 2 boiled eggs, and a half sandwich with ham and cheese and mustard (I love that mustard has no calories). That kept me full but not over full, I let that settle for about an hour and a half well I had coffee, which I've always taken black since cream or sugar in coffee makes me feel weird and without cream and sugar there's no calories worth counting, same with tea.

Snack
After my stomach felt settled I started the last day of the push-ups, the final set is 60 push-ups. I almost died, after the 8 other variable sets, I had to stop around 40 without breaking form (in the plank position, like yoga) just to catch my breath, I completed 20 more to make 60, then I collapsed on the floor breathing heavy. After I caught my breath I grabbed one of those protein bars and drank some more water.

They say lots of people struggle with the last week, and I can see why, hopefully I can complete 100 push-ups Saturday, but if not I'll try week 6 again. I'm going to up my protein and my water intake as they recommend, and since there's not much work I should have no trouble keeping relaxed and saving my strength. I'll do my best.

Lunch
I'm starting to get hungry now I just haven't figured out what to eat.

day has ended.

I went shopping after I started this blog, and stayed within budget. I bought some protein bars they were $1.75 each with 23g of protein, heck yes! Bonus is they taste good too. I'm not really a power bar guy but I figure having a few on hand would be a nice snack meal at 300 plus calories.

I'm going to try to keep my portions down to 500 calories 5 times a day. I might do a calculation day once a week just to give my self an idea of my balance of fat protein and carbohydrates. I usually shoot for 25% protein 50% carbohydrate 25% fat. But I'm not going to calculate that everyday, that takes too much time for a Dad.

Tomorrow is week 6 day 3 on 100 push ups, I'm think my final test will be on Saturday. Sunday or Monday I'll start running with "Couch to 5K". I may start the "200 sit-ups" program too just to keep myself interested, or I may do some weights, I haven't decided on anything but C25K.

Anyway after a protein shake it's time for bed.

Blog 1

My name is Caleb Fitness is my goal.

I'm 6 feet tall. Weigh 199 pounds according to my crappy bathroom scale, which makes my BMI 27. I can do 65 push ups in one go. I work a physically demanding job as a drywall taper.

My diet is pretty relaxed lately. I avoid a lot of delightful things because I have stomach troubles, and they aren't so delightful that they justify the pain, and annoyance they cause.

I am working on completing the hundred push-ups program I'm at week 6 day 2, column 3. Once completed, I plan to join the "Couch to 5 K" program. I started it but I decided since I'm so close to completing the hundred push ups program, and that last week of it is killer, that I would hold off, starting to run as it turns out is also killer.

I started this blog because a few months ago I was 220 pounds, and not liking it, never have I been over 200 pounds, though I was hovering at pretty close for awhile. My girlfriend having a baby may have caused me to creep past my own personal dread of "over 200 pounds". I kicked myself in gear, now I'm back to wear I don't feel over weight, not that I feel so in shape, but I never said I was finished. I'm going to live a healthy lifestyle, hopefully my fiance will come on board, I ask her to start some kind of program, or go for walks with me of course. If she comes or not, I won't stop myself from becoming an in shape dad, so I can play, and chase my new son all over the place.

My son is my life now, he's helped me stop bad habits, start some good habits, and kept me sane through all sorts of things and it's only been 5 months so far. There's been a ton of crazy stuff with him I won't mention it in detail just say we spent 9 days in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) in edmonton crying our eyes out being told he wasn't going to live, but that boy is as stubborn as his mama, and as strong as his daddy, and is at home  doing great.

So here's my not really exciting fitness blog, I'll have Diet updates, and fitness routine updates, I'm not going to the Gym! I'm going to use my body weight, free weights, running shoes, skipping rope, and anything else I can find that works. Rain or shine, I'm gonna get into shape.
